Note: This section states the goals but not the plan to implement it. This is still a rough draft proposal.
As stated in the previous section, the establishment of technical and/or other colleges of learning is the long term goal. This promises the Native Peoples tribes that will always have qualified techs and engineers to maintain and administer their intranets. Any network is useless if you can't maintain it properly. But the long term goal isn't limited to just technical education. ALL skills and/or fields hope to be covered by qualified teachers, especially those who are recent graduates. But our college is just a dream for right now. What is needed for this intranet rollout? Qualified, certified techs and engineers to lay the framework, while giving ON THE JOB TRAINING to selected tribespeople. The same goes for any computer work, network administration or anything seen as necessary for proper support. Once again, the private sector will be relied upon to furnish the proper expertise for training and education. The future goal is to give the Native Peoples the skills necessary to live, work and thrive in a technological world, but never forcing them into technology, instead, technology helps them preserve their culture. Control of all content and services remain in THEIR OWN HANDS. It is never a good idea to throw tons of technology into one area at the same time. Always turns out badly. Communication is seen by the author as being the main priority of this project. |
